Mauricio Parra is a mining engineer, he has a PhD. in Materials, he has worked in some mining companies in Asia and South Africa, he has worked a lot on the developing of new materials using sustainable methods. Nowadays he teaches this type of subjects in the university of Sao Paulo.
Juan Diego López is a mining engineer, he has a PhD in Mineral and Energy Economics. Nowadays he works tecahing in the National University of Colombia and He is the director of the research group that develops new methods to extract gold with the least pollution.
Luis Alejandro Rivas is a mining engineer graduate of mines faculty in the national university of Colombia, he has a Master in underground minning, also he has a PhD. In metallurgy, he actually conform the national commission of investigation about minerals deposits in Colombia, he has worked for the anglogold ashanti company, and actually he work in the colosa mine project .
They want to show that mining, specifically the gold mining can be an Environmentally Sustainable Economic Activity, because they felt the the need of help to change the mining effects in the environment and by this way change the image that the people have of mining.
